R.A.T.O. is soliciting Partners who will stand alongside us as we work in the trenches and transform the lives of underserved youth and rebuild the communities in which they live.
Partnership with R.A.T.O. means a fully equipped and productive mentorship program that connects its students to their next.
Partnership Example
R.A.T.O. partnered with the National Restaurant Association's H.O.P.E.S. Program. In this partnership, R.A.T.O. educated at-risk youth in culinary arts and management, social development skills, food purchasing, preparation, and cooking, catering, food truck operation, and the necessities to start a food truck business.
Lakisha said of her goals in this arena,
“We want our students to commit themselves, to rise above the stigmas and negative labels placed on them...some youth just need to be challenged. Who back then when I was growing up would’ve thought that today I’d have three degrees under my belt? According to statistics, I wasn't even supposed to make it past high school. I believe in providing experience to those in need of a second chance. I want them to know they can succeed despite the challenges they face.”
12 participants completed the first H.O.P.E.S. cohort and became entrepreneurs as well as successfully gained employment in their desired field.
